THE HISTORY OF YEUAN TONG
An idea was born
Mr Tham Kim Seng, the founder of Yeuan Tong, departed to Singapore to look for work. While there, he delved into the world of aluminium and glass works. Mr Tham was fortunate enough to be taught by an experienced veteran in the field.
Mr Tham was inspired by what he had learned abroad. He knew that in Penang, it was a relatively new industry. After two and a half years, he returned to Penang to start his own aluminium and glass works company. The nascent idea took hold and became what it is today.

Yeuan Tong was founded
The company had its early beginnings in Jawi and after six months, Yeuan Tong relocated to Nibong Tebal.
An economic crisis
For a few years in the late 80s, Yeuan Tong was hit hard by financial troubles. Malaysia’s economy was unstable and it was a brutal period for many industries. The business suffered due to the devastating economic collapse that shocked the nation.
Rising from the ashes
Soon, business for Yeuan Tong was looking up again. Aside from Malaysia’s recovering economy, Yeuan Tong’s strategic move to outsource materials from Taiwan helped to turn things around.
Change is here
Yeuan Tong has always been an embracer of change in the name of development. This led to our eventual move from an enterprise to a private limited company. We made this decision in the best interests of the company.
Still going strong
After 33 years in the aluminium and glass industry, Yeuan Tong shows no signs of slowing down and aims to grow further in the coming years. Despite the ups and downs we have faced, we managed to persevere and continue to provide quality services to our clients.
